Waste to Energy Management & Recycling
Impact Construction and Projects boasts a wealth of experience in general waste management and has a vested interest in environmental sustainability and renewable energy with the aim of promoting waste to energy and recycling.
Management of Landfill site
Impact Construction & Projects was appointed to manage Klerksdorps landfill site over three years with the aim of establishing a sorting at source operation. During that tenure, the environmental inspectors recognised that the Klerksdorp site was progressing well towards the Polokwane Declaration of Waste Management goals of zero waste by 2022.
Recycling Centre
In 2015, Impact Construction & Projects influenced the registration of a youth cooperative and named it Mocha Iketsetse (Youths - Do it Yourself) Recycling Company in Klerksdorp. We managed to acquire help from the Dr Kenneth Kaunda Municipality to build the first recycling “Buy Back Centre” on the landfill site and also purchased a recyclable products separation machine. This company was managed by five youths, who were motivated by Impact Group to do it themselves with Victor as their CEO.
Other Projects
Other projects include the development of a battery operated hard safety hat (helmet) for the mining industry which includes GPS location, SOS facility and data collection capabilities through an integrated camera.
Another innovative product is an automated robotic waiter for food delivery throughout a hotel complex.
